About
Twenty years of high-stakes programs. Now I build yours.
Knightlight Designs is me, Kaight Meyers. I build the site and the tools behind it, and I answer the email myself.
Before I built websites, I spent more than two decades in federal defense and technology work. I ran programs worth billions of dollars, led teams of more than 200 people, and supported two presidential administrations.
In 2026 I was chief of staff, operations director, policy director and treasurer for a U.S. Senate campaign, and I designed, built and ran its website and nearly every internal tool the team used. That's the same discipline I bring to every client, whether it's a five-page site for a small charity, a confidential system for a law firm, or the policy platform for a statewide campaign.
Background
Where I learned to run things
A U.S. Senate campaign
Chief of Staff, Operations Director, Policy Director and Treasurer of record for a 2026 U.S. Senate campaign. I turned the candidate's views, input and strategy into fully developed policy positions, had final sign-off on press and message, managed the field, digital and coalition teams, and kept the federal filings and compliance clean. I also designed, built and ran the campaign website and the systems behind it: volunteer intake, fundraising dashboards, a store with point of sale, and a four-candidate voter guide. The White House
Led a $300M portfolio modernizing presidential communications at the White House Communications Agency, and planned and ran worldwide advance teams for presidential events, from private meetings to rallies and royal engagements.
The Pentagon
Oversaw a $16.5B portfolio of more than 85 nuclear acquisition and modernization programs, and was the Air Force's point of contact for Congress, the Secretary of Defense's office and the media for those strategic programs.
Office of the Secretary of Defense
Hand-picked as founding program manager of the Department of Defense's first enterprise-wide commercial cloud program. I wrote the cloud strategy and the acquisition documents, and managed a 1,200-page request for proposals for a $10B contract.
Classified research and development
Program Director of a top-priority classified portfolio at the Air Force Research Laboratory, valued at $1.1B, with more than 60 scientists and engineers and over 120 active projects.
Enterprise systems
Led a $700M agile software program replacing 19 legacy systems for 20,000 users across three depots, with eight scrum teams and more than 200 people.
Network defense and operations
Commander of a 24/7 computer network defense operations center for the fourth-largest telecommunications grid in the world. Director of Operations for a 500-person research lab covering security, IT, public affairs and logistics.
Confidentiality
Your secrets stay secret
I spent my career on programs where silence was part of the job. Your internal information gets that same discipline.
I'll sign your NDA, and I bring my own. Every client gets a mutual NDA and a client data protection agreement written to protect you, your business and your data. If your terms are stricter than mine, yours win.
- Your data stays in your accounts. I work as an invited user with the least access the job needs, and never through a shared login.
- Any working copy lives only on an encrypted work machine or protected business storage, and is deleted at the end, with written confirmation.
- If anything ever goes wrong, you hear from me within 24 hours.
- Nothing internal ever appears in my portfolio. Your public site appears only with your written OK.
- Law firms, campaigns and nonprofits with sensitive records: I follow your own policies for privileged, donor, health and client information.
Credentials
Education and certifications
Outside work I've served on nonprofit and museum boards, captained a Susan G. Komen 3-Day team for nine years, led volunteer drives for children in foster care, and chaired a worldwide council of junior Air Force officers.
What I believe
How I work with people
Small teams deserve good tools
The groups doing the most with the least usually get the worst software. That's why the community rate exists.
You own it
Your domain, your accounts, your data. I'm a guest with keys, and I hand them back whenever you want.
Private stays private
Donor, client, member and staff information never leaves your accounts, never appears in my portfolio, and never gets reused.
Built for real brains
Short steps, nothing that nags, and tools that forgive a missed day. If it's hard to use, people won't use it.
Checked, not hoped
Automated checks before every launch and a live check after. "Done" means it's on the site.
Plain language
No jargon in proposals, guides or invoices. If I can't explain it simply, I haven't finished thinking it through.
